Shhhh!

First, they set it up so that you can’t go anywhere without being seen on camera. Now, you won’t be able to even have a private conversation on the street:

Listening devices and hidden cameras are being used by police in London to help infiltrate gangs of youths.

Detectives hope the hi-tech gadgets – which can be placed in cars, homes or on street corners – can help yield vital intelligence.

The technology is already deployed in Lambeth, south London, where a number of teenage gangs are based.

A police spokesman said the devices are used to gather information but any evidence is not admissible in court.

OK, this is just London. But you don’t think it’s coming here? Privacy — or the lack thereof — is going to be the story of the decade.

First it was cameras to monitor traffic and enforce traffic laws, then our limey friends installed cameras in public gathering places to catch criminals.

Add microphones and we get Big Brother.

As for our Right of Privacy in the US …what Constititutional Amendment says we have such a right? Do not go there with the quartering of soldiers provisions of #3 because soldiers’ quarters are now otherwise provided.
